Captain’s Log: Year 20XX.
Cycles of brand development ideas have repeatedly yielded unsatisfactory results. Taking a break to rest and reorganise.
"I’ve Given Up On Thinking Of Names."
Wait ... hold on.

A moment of enlightenment? Perhaps.

The IGUOTON Collective was founded to provide a visual front for a mission we entrusted to ourselves: the task of making design (and the evolving principles that govern it) accessible to the general public. Whether it be through our professional services, private projects, or our publicly available resources, we believe in the value of sharing the growing culmination of our experiences and skills.

Values, Principles & Design Bushidō.

Our ethos, attitude and approach to design.

The trust in humanity’s innate ability to explore is what drives our passion, further supported by our techniques that apply the practice of Investigative & Generative Research Methods. To understand the needs of the user, our process involves researching, analysing and employing our findings and insights for the ultimate goal of creating interactive fulfilment.

Speaking casually, we believe in guiding an individual on a journey as they interact with a product or system, investing heavily in ensuring that the engagement leaves a truly satisfying and memorable experience. Our approach isn’t to always make a flashy statement, but rather to leave a lasting impression that carries our carefully crafted vision onwards.

We believe in TRANSPARENCY.

Transparency. We believe in transparency.

Transparency is a core component of our belief system, and thus we ensure that at each stage of a project’s development, any challenges are clearly defined. It is worthwhile to understand these hurdles, as they lead to a deeper understanding of the project, and why they exist; only then can they be truly overcome. We always strive for excellence, with the endeavour to transcend any limits we face, and feel it is vital to highlight them for the sake of openness and completeness.

Doing what we do best.

A collection of our professional services.

Following a cross-discipline approach to our work, we have the pleasure of indulging ourselves on a number of exciting projects across the design sector. What interests us most is the nature of the opportunity, and the development process involved; if there’s a project that needs realisation, or an idea that needs discussing, we would be glad to accommodate. We currently offer the following services, and with our growth are looking to branch out and diversify further in the future.

Conducting research-based surveys, supported by focus groups and assessment-based tasks, to collect and assess data for a target project. This includes market research, and evaluation of demographic suitability.

The service can be expanded to include field-based work, depending on the nature of the opportunity, and the data required.

Producing Design Literature, for the purposes of conveying a detailed assessment of a project’s ergonomic, aesthetic and functional properties. This includes the introduction of basic conceptual development for the purposes of exploring, supporting and validating research findings.

This service can be expanded to include custom, client-specific directives, outside the scope of our typical remit.

Offering a complete package, from the creation of a visual identity, to a set of brand guidelines, and the respective product packaging (if applicable). The service further encompasses the development of a mission statement, with its supporting company values.

This service can be expanded to include the production of business and promotional materials.

Producing conceptual designs, based on either theoretical concepts, or real-world practicality. All concepts are available as 2D/3D aesthetic CAD models, unless otherwise instructed.

This service is based on working from a predefined Design Brief & Specification, however these guidelines can be produced in conjunction with our support, if necessary.

A combination of theoretical and practical activities to study, analyse and evaluate the data collected from a user’s interactive journey with a product or system. The research is founded on a cycle of evolution and refinement, collating the findings to develop a complementary User Interface, supported by an enhanced User Experience System Design.

Developing a range of technical and/or engineering drawings, manufacture-ready files, as well as aesthetic models, and functional CAD for the purposes of prototyping and production. SolidWorks is used as our primary CAD program, with KeyShot being the primary rendering program - files for 2D CAM are typically created in Adobe Illustrator.

This service is based on working from a predefined Design Brief & Specification, however these guidelines can be produced in conjunction with our support, if necessary.

Using a variety of materials - alongside a combination of rapid prototyping processes and handworking techniques - a wide range of prototypes can be produced. These can range from ergonomic ‘test dummies’, to purely aesthetic presentation pieces, and ‘function-first’ models.

This service is based on working from a predefined Design Brief & Specification, however these guidelines can be produced in conjunction with our support, if necessary.

A service suited for the design, development and production of a specialist project, for ideal use under demonstrative or presentation circumstances. The product created is offered as both a combined aesthetic and functional prototype, including the materials/features that would be offered in its mass-produced counterpart, unless otherwise instructed.

This service is based on working from a predefined Design Brief & Specification, however these guidelines can be produced in conjunction with our support, if necessary.

A service suited for the design, development and production of a limited edition collection, or an early, prerelease product run to be used for the purposes of analysis, testing and review. This option carries with it the benefit of a lower unit cost per product.

This service is based on working from a predefined Design Brief & Specification, however these guidelines can be produced in conjunction with our support, if necessary.

Once upon a time, in a cluttered mind.

A rather unexpected origin story.

When we first began exploring ideas to create a brand identity, we came to the realisation that every idea and name that could carry our values and ethos - no matter how obscure - already existed in some capacity. In our desire to stand out with our unique and unorthodox approach, it was only in a moment of taking a break from this frustrating cycle, that we received an epiphany.

IGUOTON (I’ve Given Up On Thinking Of Names) was born from a moment of mental clarity. If everything we could think of already existed, then we would choose to adopt nothingness. It was this moment of paradoxical enlightenment that led to the creation of the IGUOTON Collective, and paved the way for our future.

Today, we’re a growing independent agency that takes pleasure in the freedom of undertaking any challenging project we are presented with, and pursuing any adventurous endeavours and private opportunities we discover.
